The Dubai Expo 2020 certainly improved the visibility of many SMEs who were the recipients of over AED 6.8 billion in project contracts. Oryx Doors and Windows was no exception, and as one of the 3,245 Expo 2020 suppliers, this golden opportunity has exposed our products to a multitude of visitors from around the world and reinforced our position as a world-class distributor and installer of aluminium doors and windows.

Working alongside well-known architects and engineers, Foster + Partners and Permasteelisa Group, we were tasked with the installation of 3 sets of segmented Origin bi-folding doors at one of the Expo 2020 signature pavilions – Alif, The Mobility Pavilion.

The bi-folding doors, which are located on the ground floor,  have been well integrated into the building’s self-shading, heat-reflective, metal-clad exterior. Given the UAE’s commitment to creating a green economy for sustainable development, the Mobility Pavilion was designed to the LEED Gold standard, making it a champion of sustainable architectural design.

When we first learnt about Dubai winning the right to host a World Expo, we had no idea how huge it would be for us.
