The Video Interview

We are looking for …

… a mix of applicants, and the skill base we require depends on the job you will be doing. For any office-based position, we require our applicants to have a good grasp of the English language, a willingness to learn, an ability to work with many nationalities, and a polite and kind nature. We do not stipulate a degree, but some qualifications are required in some positions, such as Project Management or CAD. Logic and an ability to apply themselves to practical situations is a must. A customer-centric attitude is essential.

We do not stipulate a good grasp of the English Language for our installers, but it is required if they want to progress through the company. In addition, everyone who wants to progress must understand LEAN principles and desire to make the work easy.

We care deeply about everyone, employees, suppliers and customers alike. We have a strict policy that forbids the use of “Mam or Sir”. We believe that only a fully engaged, happy and healthy team can produce amazing products which are delivered with exceptional service.

Project Manager

The PM’s role is to ensure that projects are completed on time, with a focus on the Oryx Way of Management and Lean principles.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, monitor, control and close the project. Take full ownership.
  • Provide amazing customer service and response to the customer. Ensure all communication is clear and concise, including good and bad updates delivered in a timely way, adhering to our challenging SOPs.

Procurement Coordinator

The procurement coordinator’s role is to ensure that projects receive the right materials at the right time, are cost-efficient and legally compliant, and focus on The Oryx Way of management and Lean principles.

  • Process orders promptly and accurately
  • Seek continuous improvement in every process
  • Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers
  • Process freight from overseas suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with suppliers

Warehouse and Logistics Manager

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager role ensures the successful storage and distribution of Oryx products. This role aids timely installations through the correct delivery of products to the site, guaranteeing that projects are completed on time every time with a focus on the Oryx Way of Management and Lean principles.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lean processes and continual improvement
  • Maintain optimal stock levels of consumables and operational spares
  • Enable proper storage and distribution of raw materials and finished goods
  • Supervise and manage the drivers and warehouse staff

Fit and Healthy

Working to exceptional standards, attending site meetings, or working outside in the Dubai heat requires a certain level of physical and mental wellness. This is why we encourage health and fitness in various ways including weekly badminton and yoga sessions, and providing healthy snacks.

Exercise & Healthy Diet

In addition to badminton and yoga, we provide many more opportunities to stay fit while building rapport with team members and industry peers. Our installation team plays basketball every Sunday, our sales team is part of the Design & Construction Football League, and we we recently partnered with The Els Club, providing folding doors at 261 restaurant in exchange for a corporate golf membership. Over and above this, Oryx are proud participants in the biggest multi-sports event in the interior design & home improvement industry – Design Duels.

To support our efforts in keeping fit, we also provide a variety of fruits for our staff members to snack on throughout the day. Most recently, we also started celebrating birthdays with cake done The Oryx Way – a fresh watermelon cake.
