Colour Fading

Installation Advice

Harmful UV Exposure

With temperatures occasionally reaching over 50 degrees Celsius, anything that is exposed to the sunlight is also exposed to harsh UV rays which can cause the rapid discolouration or colour fading of exterior walls and doors. Frames that are black, dark in colour, or with a high gloss level are more prone to colour degradation.

Performance Grade Powder Coating

To help you maintain the quality and appearance of the property’s exteriors, we recommend selecting materials that are finished with performance-grade paint or powder coatings.

Super Durable Finish

Unless otherwise stated, Oryx uses the super durable finish (SDF) powder coating (class 2) on all door and window frames, which is up to 50% more durable than the standard powder coating (class 1) used in cooler climates. For doors and windows installed near the coast, we recommend marine-grade powder coating which is designed to withstand exceptionally high levels of salt and humidity.
