Oryx’s installation of folding doors at Babaji’s Dubai restaurant means patrons can enjoy Turkish contemporary cuisine, without missing out on the open-air ambience at City Walk.
Babaji Group approached Oryx to provide a bespoke solution that would open up the restaurant, giving customers a view of the adjacent atrium fountain and an engaging and memorable dining experience.

The project was a challenging one – with a short turn-around time of just three weeks from order confirmation to project handover – to limit the impact of the renovation project on the business. Our specialist team worked closely together with primary contractor Al Tayer Stocks to ensure schedules were adhered to and the client was pleased to see their folding doors and double door sets installed in just three days, including all glass and cladding works. Oryx was also to match the colour of the new frames to the existing façade to ensure a professional, and on-brand finish and as all Origin doors are finished in a long-lasting powder coating, there’s no need for periodic maintenance once installed.

As well as looking the part, the high-specification finish of Origin’s doors in ultra-slim aluminium, mean that Babaji’s staff can quickly and effortlessly open and close the doors to make the most of the venue’s external surroundings. Our client also has peace of mind knowing that Origin doors come with finger safe seals to prevent injury to employees or customer.
Oryx’s quality assurance and reliability has seen the company named as developer Meraas’ approved supplier of folding doors for all F&B outlets at City Walk. And since completion of this highly successful project, other tenants in the development have approached Oryx to install similar systems at their venues.
